A Simple Skill That is an SEO Secret Weapon?

There is one key skill that is often overlooked in the quest for higher search engine rankings. Yet almost everyone who uses the web will at least have heard of it. Good Web Designers use it every day and real SEO experts use it too. So what is this skill?

Lets see what the well known and respected SEO Expert Jim Westergren has to say about it. Recently he listed what he sees as the essential skills that any SEO expert or good Internet Marketeer needs to know. Top of that list was HTML:

“As an SEO, knowing HTML is a must. You need to see and understand how the search engines are reading the source code of the web pages.”

Its an excellent and often overlooked point – hence the little known secret! If you know HTML (which is easy to learn) you can really get under the skin of any web page and start to see how the search engine reads the page. So it seems that a little time spent brushing up on your html skills will be time well spent.

You can use your updated or new knowledge of html to design or alter your pages so that the search engines can read through them easier. If you stop to think about it for a moment you will see that this makes perfect sense. I mean who likes a hard read! I remember having to study Dicken’s classic book “Hard Times” during my school days and boy that was a hard read. It wasn’t just the subject matter but also the tiny font and the immense word density of the pages.

In order to put this key skill into practice you don’t have to be a professional code wrangler but you must at least know how a web page is structured, what the main tags are, and how they effect the readability of the page. With this knowledge you can take your current SEO skills to the next level and fine tune your pages for even more exposure.

So the Secret SEO Weapon is not so secret afterall. Yet my guess is that many internet marketeers and many self proclaimed SEO experts have probably overlooked this simple and yet essential skill. So be good to your search engine robot friends and make it easy for them to read your pages. I am sure they will thank you for it by promoting your pages up the search engine rankings.

Using SEO With Your Nonprofit Website – The Basics

Good SEO is essential for your nonprofit website’s success. SEO (Search Engine Optimization) techniques increase your site’s chance of rising higher in organic search results (such as when people do a Google search for “Los Angeles Non Profit”) and attaining better site ranks in numerous directories. In a world where pay-per-click advertising devours millions in charitable advertising dollars each year, it makes sense to do everything you can to achieve great organic, unpaid results. Good SEO can help you do that.

There are countless books and sites devoted to improving your site’s SEO and SEO considerations. Without getting into too much detail, here are 5 techniques that will help you in your SEO mission.

Search Engine Spiders And Your Nonprofit Website

Search engine spiders “feed” on good SEO content. Many nonprofit websites owners think content only appears on the written page; i.e., the stuff you read directly on the site. While it’s partly true—it’s definitely not the whole story! Spiders also read Meta tags, coding, and even the page names you’ve given to your website’s files (look up in the browser bar title in your browser to see what I am talking about).

501c3 Website Page Names

One trick I recommend is using accurate page names to increase your SEO presence. For example, a page named “page5.html” means nothing to a human and search engines won’t care about it. On the other hand, consider the page name: “save-atlantas-trees.html.” This page name says basically what you can expect from it. It may not seem like much at first glance—but if you think of how search engines index this kind of material and use it to help catalog, sort, and show search results to potential clients and customers, you can see the benefit of optimizing your page names.

Charity Domain Name

Did you know your domain name is another secret SEO weapon? Let’s say your nonprofit is named “Benny Johnson Foundation” because Benny Johnson founded the organization. It’s fine as a general non-profit name, but as a domain name, it doesn’t give a clue about what the Benny Johnson Foundation does. This can leave potential donors guessing about the cause and hurt your organization’s donations.

It’s vital to select a domain name that matches your organizations mission and location.

If you must have a non-keyword domain name as your primary, consider adding additional domain names which are rich in keywords such as these fake nonprofit examples helppheonixkids.com and chicagocatshelter.com . These domains can forward to your main domain, hooking customers in through their rich, applicable content. Forwarding a domain name is done on the server level – usually free of charge.

Charity META Tags

Lastly, Meta tags are an SEO staple. They live in the coded header of your web pages, literally offering search engines a platter of keywords and data to propagate. Meta tags are the easiest thing you can add to your nonprofit site. Be sure they use optimized keywords that advertise your charitable organization well.

SEO considerations are worth tackling, whatever your nonprofit size. Excellent SEO habits can improve your site’s worth and presence without costing a fortune in advertising!

SEO Expert Or Just A Cowboy?

As a website owner it is perfectly natural to expect your website to rank near the top of the search results. After all, with all that fantastic content that you’ve just spent days and weeks fine-tuning, how could it not be immensely popular? And as sure as night follows day, when your site fails to make the first page it’s tempting to blame Google, because, how could your beautiful new website be the problem? So, take a deep breath and read the next line. It’s not Google’s fault, it’s not your website’s fault: it’s your fault.Sorry, but you haven’t finished the job. Your next task is going to be challenging, but in this new world, competition is fierce, and to finish the job you’ll need to pay careful attention to the various ways you can claw your site up the rankings. But don’t despair. You can get help, it even has a name Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and there are plenty of consultants and companies offering SEO services, the only problem is sorting the wheat from the chaff. Luckily for you, you are just about to read The Six Golden Rules for Choosing an SEO consultant.Golden Rule Number 1: Contacted by an SEO firm? Keep your wits about you!Although it does not automatically follow that all SEO firms that contact you are just out for a quick buck you should keep your wits about you and be wary of any that do. The majority of good SEO consultants will rather react to an inquiry than spend time trawling the Internet looking for poorly optimized websites.Golden Rule Number 2: Guarantees are lies – spurn them and the companies that offer themOkay, as Golden Rules go it is not fair to say that all guarantees are lies, there are a few genuine guarantees that are offered in good faith and as a sign of confidence, nevertheless err on the side of caution and treat them all as you would a suspect standing over a dead body with a smoking gun.SEO consultants have no control over how the search engines search; they have no influence over the competition and so no matter how much you want it they are not in any position to offer you meaningful guarantees with regards to the results that can be achieved. There are no “special relationships” or “tricks”, if you are offered a guarantee, or think yourself covered for insisting on one, it is quite possible that the guarantee offered will be worthless.Guarantees that are freely offered are generally not what they seem. Anyone with a basic knowledge of SEO will be able to rank you high for an uncompetitive search phrase; being ranked number one for a search phrase that no one is using is as useful and expensive as erecting a billboard in the middle of the Sahara Dessert.Golden Rule Number 3: Secretive SEO’s should be shown the door Your relationship with an SEO consultant should be similar to that you would expect from your accountant as you are ultimately responsible for your website and the actions of the people that you employ to build and maintain your website. There is no reason for an SEO consultant not to explain why and what they are doing and they should be prepared to document all that they have done. They should not insert undocumented code and you should be careful of those that want to install their own software; give consideration as to what will happen if you decide at a later date to end you relationship with them.Golden Rule Number 4: Treat references with a pinch of saltReferences are useful but will not always tell the whole story. Ten years is a lifetime in SEO, and it is a subject that is more to do with understanding the “now” than the “then”.Search engines in their current form first started to appear in the mid 90’s and a lot has changed in search engine technology which gave birth to the SEO consultant. As the search engines have become more adept at spotting and penalizing websites that achieve prominence by stealth rather than merit, so SEO techniques have had to evolve. Despite the SEO basics being the same for any website how they are applied and to what degree is very dependent on each specific website; its design, maturity, market, purpose, objectives, the type and size of the organization as well as how competitive the market. Some SEO techniques that are relevant and effective for some websites will be irrelevant and ineffective for others.Golden Rule Number 5: Prepared to be disappointedLimit your expectations. No matter how good the SEO consultant they will not be able to take you from ‘nowhere’ to a number one listing overnight. There is no magic bullet that will allow a one page website to permanently out rank a large multi-national, if you believe those that say there are, expect to be disappointed.SEO takes hard work, time and patience. Golden Rule Number 6: Are they worthy of your trustThe most important quality to look for in an SEO consultant is trust, as more often than not you will be entrusting your SEO consultant with your business and reputation. If you are not familiar with SEO speak you need someone who is not going exploit your ignorance, isn’t going to shift blame on to others and is going to do things right, with long term objectives, and not implement solutions that offer immediate rewards followed swiftly by long term and serious pain.A good and trustworthy SEO consultant is worth their weight in gold, like good neighbors; when you have found one, think twice before moving.Have you got a Champ or a Chimp? The following is a questionnaire that can be used as an aid to ask potential SEO consultants a number of questions. Based on how they respond to the questions it will help you root out those that lacks the basic knowledge, expose those that are willing to tell you what you want to hear and identify those that are prepared to tell you what you should hear.It is not recommended that the information you gleam from the questionnaire is used as the sole criteria for evaluating an SEO consultant but it will help identify the SEO cowboy, saving you time, money and heartache.

Do You Recognize These SEO Mistakes Bloggers Make?

Recently I had a chance to do a review for a blog. This blog was getting decent traffic (about 200 unique per day) and I believed that it had potential to get great traffic and monetize it. So I got deep into the blog and started noticing a small trend about this blog. This blog was not optimized properly. I told the owner about it and his response.

Gasp! HOW it can be?

Even when the blog had the SEO plugin and All the secret SEO blog techniques (a bit sarcasm here) applied properly. So I took a few of his post and started showing him the Basics of SEO.

The Big issues with bloggers is that they have 2 beliefs:

1. The more content I write, the better it’s for the blog.

2. The more frequent I write, the better it is.

While they are not wrong. But when you start blogging in this manner, you are all over the place without any focus.

Remember, Drip by Drip, A water can break any solid rock. It’s all about focus.

Here are The Universal Basics of SEO techniques.

1. Title Meta Tags of the Blog.

2. Description Meta tags

3. Keywords Meta Tags

4. H1 Meta Tag

5. Back Links.

Keywords Meta tags

We are starting with Keyword meta tags, because keywords are going to be bread and butter source for the SEO. If you are optimizing for the wrong keyword, you are pretty much screwing up yourself. With bloggers, when we get an idea to write about something, we tend to write like a man possessed. And in turn forgets about SEO and keywords.

It’s not bad about forgetting, so far, you end up using right keywords. After writing the post, Do a keyword research and update your blog elements.

Title, Description Meta Tags and H1 tags.

You’d be surprised to see how many bloggers make this mistake. Often The title of your blog post is taken as title by all the SEO plugins. Which in itself can be bad. I use “All In ONE SEO” and Update title and description tags so that the information is good, focussed and inviting.

H1 tags can be utilized by your Blog’s Style Sheet and you can make your title’s stylized or aligned with your blog design. It’s not that hard.

Back links

Now With the latest web 2.0 technologies, the idea of back links lost its luster. People (SEO guys) are not talking about them at all. Of course who’d talk about the most boring SEO technique when you can talk about web 2.0 and get paid handsomely for doing nothing at all.

I still believe (and I’ve tested it on my own sites) that getting back links is still the best way to boost your natural rankings in search engines.

Now all of these Basic SEO techniques make look deceptively simple but they are still powerful. Why not just go through your blog and start making few of the changes and notice the results of your traffic for couple of weeks. I guarantee you, the results will make you excited.

Increasing traffic with basic SEO techniques is possible for bloggers. Provided they understand and follow it properly.

Top Secret SEO Tips

What are the top secret SEO tips? The truth is there is no secret. There are only true facts on how you should optimize your blogs, articles, ads or whatever.

Most important is the content. Content is your best vehicle for driving traffic to your pages. Quality content will keep traffic flooding to your door.

Research your material. Find an authoritative voice to learn from and always provide unique content to your readers.

Makes sure you use links. Back links add value to your site for the search engines. But don’t just stuff any links into you content. Be sure that they are related to your subject and are helpful to your audience. You disperse them in your content or provide a helpful resource box with all your links in it.

While we are on the subject of links, use text links on your website. When you use image links then don’t give them a name in your alt tags instead give them a number like “jpg 1″. This way when the image is not relevant the search engines will not count them as “relevant” to your website.

Remember that rating number one is not necessarily the best place to be in the search engines. When you are placed at the top you typically get a lot of “tire kickers”. Aim to be somewhere around 3rd or 4th. the people who tend to look further down the page tend to be more targeted traffic.

One way to rise in the rankings however is to provide fresh content on a regular basis. Search engines love new content and you will tend to rank higher with quality fresh content supplied on a regular basis.

Go for keyword phrases and not just single keywords. Again more targeted traffic tends to search for keyword phrases than just one word.

A Secret SEO Technique Most People Don’t Use

Those who have been in the business of building websites and business are familiar with the very basics of SEO techniques in order to get ranked well within the major search engines. We have all heard or read many tutorials drumming the importance of using keywords in the titles, headline and contents of a web page.

Some even get more technical and began to use active linking strategies. In fact active linking strategies can be one of the best ways to get ranked high with the search engines but I’ll explain that another time.

What we are going to talk about is a little secret 99% of sites don’t use and this also includes websites that PAY for SEO. This is not a secret which is going to cost money nor does it take hours, days or weeks to master. You don’t have to go to a product page which is going to tell you how great it and then demand money for software. In fact once you read what I’m taking about you can go ahead and use this trick on all your sites within minutes.

Insert the keyword in the text of a link. It’s a good idea to have 2-5 outgoing links with one or more keywords embedded. Confused?

Let’s say you’re building a website centered on vintage and classic cars. Two of your many keywords would be “vintage” and “classic”. Now you would want to add those two keywords to some of your out going links. It can be a link to a web page on your site, another website or even an affiliate website.

Still confused? Example:

Classic Cars (Would link to a page on your website)
Vintage Automobiles (Link to another website)
Buying Classic and Vintage Cars (Links to an affiliate website)

Now don’t think that this little trick by itself will send your rankings through the roof. You still have to engage in other SEO friendly techniques as well. But this little trick will definitely help in your quest to securing a first page spot on major search engines.

BUT

Even though it’s always good SEO to have keywords listed within the content of a web page, don’t over do it as you could be targeted for keyword harvesting. Most of webmasters prefer to use between 10-15 keywords per page in order to stay on the major search engines good books.

With this simple principle in mind it’s not hard to find ways of utilizing your keywords or phrases within your webpage and like various other techniques helps to drive traffic to your site and climb the search engine index.

Behind The Scenes Top Secret SEO Strategy

If you are new to SEO, you eagerly wish to know how to improve your search engine rankings. Like most other webmasters, you check your rankings and do everything you can to learn SEO.

However here is an important lesson, not just another theory or something technical. This is like going behind the scenes of Google. Ever asked yourself the question, but why do some websites rank on top and others rank on the last page.

The rate at which your rankings improve more towards the number one position, depends on several factors.

Mainly, the more backlinks you get and the faster you get them, the better. The more often you use the anchor text in the backlinks, the better. But here is more detail about what this all means.

Getting backlinks faster means get some everyday, no holidays. Take note of the time available you have and you should spend all the time you can on getting backlinks.

The more you get the better means, the quantity but also the quality. You do not want to get backlinks from blog comments, which are useless since most use the nofollow tag.

You do not need to check where you rank every day. First of all Google does not like it. They see the same searches everyday from the same ip address. That is strange. When your website appears in Google, somewhere in the last pages for the first time, same thing happens like when you get indexed for the first time.

Your rankings will come and go. Sometimes you see your website on let us say page fifty, and next day you cannot. But then again, the following day you see it back at fifty. Until you have a solid base of backlinks this will happen.

Why does this happen?

Google does not rank websites so fast, because they want to make sure that the backlinks you have did not happen by chance. They want the best websites, means also those that
constantly get backlinks.

That is the reason why it is important to get backlinks daily, because Google is looking for those websites, that are getting constant links.

When you have a brand new website, your site may appear in the index after few days, but until you get a solid base of backlinks it will come and go out of the index. Again backlinks determine if your site will or not get indexed. Once you have a solid base of backlinks, which means a good number of them, Google simple indexes your website completely. You will not come and go anymore.

Search engine optimization strategies have a significant meaning behind them. Mainly these strategies help you give search engines what they are looking for. SE, search engines look for specific factors in websites. What you do when doing SEO is basically creating the factors search engines want.

So the top secret SEO strategy is simple knowing what search engines are looking for to rank high certain websites instead of others. Then giving them when they need. Sounds very simple.

Remember to keep this in mind when doing SEO, because if you know where you are going and what search engines look for you have an advantage. Most webmasters do not know why they are ranked on the last page instead of the first page. But if they knew, then that alone should motivate them, knowing they are following the right road to the top of the search engine results.

SEO Search engine optimization is all about giving search engines what they want, to please their customers. Find out how to do that using OutRankSmart seo software.

Chiropractic Marketing – Secret SEO Tactics

Are you one of those chiropractors that has purchased an expensive website and hired a costly Search Engine Optimization (SEO) firm to do the marketing and promotion for you? If so, odds are you’re getting “bent over” because of how little you know about internet marketing and optimization. If I told you you could literally save over 70% by learning SEO yourself and outsourcing through specific channels, would that get your attention? The startling reality is what you don’t know is costing you thousands and possibly killing your chiropractic practice!

Search engine optimization (SEO) is basically the method of improving the volume, popularity, and quality of visitors to your chiropractic website from search engines like Google, Yahoo, and MSN, via natural search results. Typically, the higher a site is shown in the search results, or the better it ranks, the more people will stumble upon that site. SEO can also zero-in on different types of searches, including image searches, local searches, and niche-specific searches.

When it comes to effective SEO for your chiropractic website, you don’t have to do everything or even anything for that matter. You just need to know how to do it so you can delegate certain tasks to specific employees. This will save you so much money every month it’s ridiculous. On top of that, you will be able to get much more noticeable results and be able to crush your competition with ease.

When learning the basics of SEO for your chiropractic marketing online, you want to incorporate things like video submissions, article submissions, social bookmarking sites, blogs, blog comments, forum posts, press releases, and back-links for specific keywords. Having a blueprint and combining all of these together regularly will sky-rocket your presence on the search engines and ensure your spot for the long-term.

It’s important to note that just because you paid an arm and a leg for your website doesn’t mean that it will automatically attract visitors and new patients. This is where many chiropractors miss the boat and make bad investments. Chiropractic marketing for your website is essential because without it, you won’t see any return in the form of new business.

If you’re looking to establish a massive presence online and to get new patients from the internet, study someone that’s already been really successful. Learning the basics of effective SEO can lower your marketing costs substantially and turn a portion of your practice on autopilot. For example, videos that you put out are gaining views 24 hours a day so they continue to work while you sleep. This type of leverage can go a long way at producing a steady stream of new patients and build social-proof very quickly. Application is everything, though. Knowing and applying are not the same and unfortunately many chiropractors.

Secret SEO Tips for More Traffic

SEO or Search Engine Optimization is actually easier than it sounds, once you know how to do it. Many new internet marketers start promoting their websites through traffic exchanges or by buying paid traffic to their sites. This can be a very time consuming and expensive way to drive traffic to your new site. Worse the traffic is typically not targeted to your niche.

Free traffic from the search engines is the best traffic. If you use proper SEO and build a good site the search engines will send you more traffic than you dreamed of, here are some tips to help with your SEO.

Build a content rich website

Building a site that has original keyword rich content is the first step. If your site is rarely updated with new content there is little reason for the search engines to visit. It is important to constantly add new content to your site, search engines are constantly looking for something new and they aren’t easily fooled. If you simply copy content that is already all over the internet, or use a cookie cutter web page, you will not get traffic from search engines.

Know your keywords

This is probably the single most important step in building your website. Keywords and phrases are basically the terms people enter as search criteria. If you have a site selling widgets try to think of all the terms people would use when looking for your particular type of widget. There are tools available to make this easier Keyword Discovery offers a free tool to research keywords, as does Google. Research keywords and phrases with less competition at first, and then build up to the more popular keywords once you have some momentum.

Once you choose your keywords use them on your site. Use your keywords in your sites URL, home page title, alt image tags and strategically throughout your pages. Keep your keyword concentration around 3 to 5% on your site. Too much, or too little and your SEO will suffer. It comes down to this, a search is absolutely alway about content.

Develop quality one way links

One way links pointing to your site are a very important part of SEO. Search engines use links to rank your site. In some ways your linking strategy is, such as PageRank, links to your site are crucial. Every link counts as a vote in favor of your site. The higher the PageRank of the site pointing to you, the more the link counts. Page rank plays an important role, among others, in where your site is listed in the search results. Contrary to popular belief, there is no such thing as a bad one-way link pointing to your site. Your SEO will not be negatively affected by a link pointing to you if it could, then all you would need to do is create a banned page and start linking to your competition to make them suffer in the rankings.

While incoming links can’t hurt you, outgoing links can. If your site points to a site that has been banned by one of the search engines your SEO will suffer. Because of the consequences of linking out to a bad site, always be careful of who you do link exchanges with. It is a good practice to check all of your link partners at least monthly. Check on your link partners to verify that they are still linking to you and that they are not doing things that could get them banned.

MLM MasterMind Secrets – SEO in the Age of Google

Key words help, yeah. Web site manipulation works. And it’s more than important to have a related header. But with the success of Google, and I’m sure you all know this, the arena of the search engine was forever changed.

The rest of the search engine companies quickly realized that their best minds couldn’t design a program that could come relatively close to the simple concept that Google used in making ‘Link Popularity’ one if not the biggest factor in their programs guidelines for ranking a page.

This is because despite all the advances in technology a program is still a program a billion dollars still can’t design one that can understand what people want to see more than people themselves can understand. And can you believe what other people wanted was actually a lot closer to what you wanted than what the program could determine should be listed above something else based on a long series of variables.

So how can you take advantage of this? It’s simple; get more links on more sites that drive traffic. The more you can drive traffic to your site the easier you’re going to be able to drive traffic in the future.

Now yes, there are the program factors but these fall considerably below the human factors. You are selling, marketing to a human. The search engine is a tool to give other humans what they are looking for. If you create what people are looking for then you create what the search engine wants to give people. But remember more often then not, what you would be looking for is different than what the program designer thought people wouldn’t want to see when searching which I’m sure doesn’t actually bring what people think is number one to the top spot.

So you need to think as others; the program, the designer, the clients. Research your target market, review competitors who have found top spots, analyze variables in these competitors. Do your homework. Playing the search engines is a game, how bad you want to win will determine how high your ranking is.

1 of the 7 Sexy SEO Secrets

One of the most important facts you can know about SEO or Search Engine Optimization, is the distribution of clicks on a search engine landing page. After all, it is no use patting yourself on the back for that page 2 listing, when in fact, that listing is going to make no to little difference to your overall business.

Page 1 accounts for over 90% of all traffic!

The other important fact to know is that Google is king. Yes, Google accounts for around 65% of all search traffic, so, in simple terms, unless you are on page 1 of Google, for your chosen search term, then you are going to be losing out on over 50% of your target market.

Let me repeat that for the hard of hearing and those at the back. Google page 1 is worth more than 50% of the total traffic for your niche.

So, that’s where you need to be. Full stop. Anything less and you’re missing out. Big time! This is what the top SEO services know and this is where they concentrate their efforts.

So, let’s assume that you’ve hired one of the top SEO services or you’ve invested a massive amount of time and energy to not only learn the ins and outs of search engine optimization, but to also put into practice the right tricks, methods and secrets necessary to get yourself on page 1. Well done, take a bow. But is that the end of the story? No, I don’t think so.

Ok, let’s assume that your listing is on page 1, let’s have a look at what happens to the clicks on page 1 of Google. There are three main elements to a Google search results page (for a typically commercial result i.e. not left handed basket weaving):

1. The three main sponsored results at the top
2. The sponsored results to the right
3. The 10 organic listings

So, around 21 results in all, less for less competitive terms, but let’s stay with the 21 results page. Roughly, it is estimated, that for every 20 visitors 14 will click on one of the top sponsored results, 4 will click on the organic and only 1 will click on the ads on the right hand side. How does that match your typical browsing patterns? Now, some people will only click on ads, some not all but most, will choose the most relevant. The massive difference in all this is for the poor webmaster. The cost of maintaining a keyword in position 1-3 can be prohibitive, take SEO, for example, Google tells me they have around 1.2 million searches per month, in the US alone, and for me to take the number 1 spot, it would cost me around $4 PER CLICK. You do the maths. It’s a big number. For most, certainly for me, way too big.

That’s why organic SEO is the answer. What’s the point? I hear a lot of people asking. Especially when 15 out of 20 click on the ads anyway? Well, this is where you are missing an absolute magical point. Not every keyword has 11 advertisers. Some have NONE at all. It doesn’t mean they’re worthless, far from it, in fact they could be some of the most valuable keywords of all. Top SEO services know these facts and numbers before they start any campaign. The other great thing on those pages, organic results get 100% of the clicks.

THE FIRST SEXY SEO SECRET:

It’s called the long tail and it’s where the money is.

I know you’ve had enough of percentages by now, but I want to leave you with one last thought. If the top 3 organic positions in Google attract around 60% of the clicks and the #1 position grabs over 70% of those, wouldn’t you want to be number 1 on Google for your chosen search terms? In the organic? Where it’s not costing you for every click you received?

I know I would.

That number 1 spot accounts for over 40% of all the clicks received in the organic listings.

SEO Attraction Marketing Secrets – How to Get Prospects to Find Your MLM Websites

There is a misconception that you need to discover a bunch of SEO attraction marketing secrets to be able to draw a flood of prospects to your business. Well the truth is, it’s more like commonsense and just following some simple best practices can be just as powerful.

Sure, your web properties need to be structured in a way that is search engine friendly but many network marketers get hung up on this and become intimidated when it confronts them. But there is no need to worry and a properly optimized site isn’t hard to achieve when you know how.

We have some great tips in this article for optimizing your attraction marketing sites and if you’ve been struggling to get them noticed, then use this checklist to see what you have been leaving out.

SEO Attraction Marketing Secrets

The first method is to test the functionality of your website to see how it will work with SEO for search engines. These checks will include checking the keywords that your website contains, check the HTML code, and also check to see if your site contains meta tags. Checks will also be carried out to see how user friendly your website is.

When you build a website you need to consider the audience you wish to target. Your audience will dictate how your website promotes your particular product or service. By this we mean is your audience a buying lot or are they just freebie seekers. The keywords you use can determine this.

Relevant Keywords

It is vital to use relevant keywords that will apply to your target audience. Keywords should be focused and laser targeted instead of broad. Broad keywords means you will be competing with a ton of other webmasters who will have more established sites and therefore will always outrank you.

The next stage of the process is to analyze what your competitors are up to. Check to find out who out of your competitors is ranked the highest and how they got to achieve such high rankings. Look to see what keywords they are using and this can be easily done by looking at the page source of their site.

Optimize Your Titles

Check things such as meta tags and titles. Your main keywords need to be listed in both of these areas. Article titles need to contain your main keyword and the content itself should at least use it and a variation of this keyword or phrase at least 3% of the article length.

Also, if you create links back to your website this will greatly enhance your ranking position on the search engines. One way links are a great way of doing this even if you don’t receive links back from another site. Submitting articles to directories is just one method of getting links back to your site. Creating web 2 properties is another. Hardly SEO attraction marketing secrets but very effective.

SEO Secrets – The Not-so-secretive Secrets of SEO

The thousands of firms claiming to be experts in search engine optimization would have you believe that SEO techniques require a Ph.D. in Physics. Not so. In fact, the key activities behind search engine optimization are quite simple.

One of the biggest “secrets” is to get your keywords correct. Keywords are key. Don’t just pick keywords willy-nilly. Pick words that are carefully focused on your market and on your content. The more specific you are the higher the quality of the leads you get. Picking irrelevant keywords will put your site listing in front of irrelevant viewers.

When you’re selecting your keywords, consider carefully the balance between keyword population and keyword specificity. Popular just means that you’ll be part of a very large crowd; too specific means you’ll miss people that are searching too generally. Find the balance.

When you have the keywords you want, make sure that the content in your site “echoes” your keywords. Most search engines will actually validate whether your keywords reflect your sites content – in some cases, they’ll actually go through the content and create additional keywords on your behalf that are based on the content!

Use your keywords in all the descriptions of your site. This includes the page titles, title meta tags, description meta tags and, of course, keyword meta tags. In the page titles and description tags particularly – use your keywords threaded into a complete description.

There’s more to SEO than just keywords. But keywords are one of the SEO factors that’s easiest to address. Take care of that first before you attempt to deal with other SEO strategies.

SEO Secrets – 4 Little-Known Ways To Boost Your SEO

In this article, I am going to reveal 4 little-known SEO secrets to boost your SEO for your websites. Best of all, these tactics take no more than a few minutes to put into action! You can literally start seeing results in just a few days.

Here are the 4 little-known ways to boost your SEO:

1. Extend Your Domain Name Expiry Date

It’s a great tip for boosting your search engine friendliness – having a domain name that has a longer expiry date in the future tells the search engines that your site is not a fly by night site, but a serious business. Against a site with just a one-year ‘contract’, your site will get the better rankings if based on this factor alone.

2. Use Dashes In Your Domain Name

Separate your keywords with dashes in your domain name. They do make a difference as your keywords are now distinguishable and it is more recognizable to the search engine spiders.

3. Use Your Main Keyword Phrase In All Your Meta Tags

Include your main keyword phrase in all your meta tags, including your title tag, keywords tag and your descriptions tag. Each and every tag adds more ‘SEO juice’ to your website.

4. The Ideal Keyword Density?

I don’t think there is an ideal keyword density, so to speak, but I’ve found that a keyword density of 3%-6% works great. Anything too low, and it might be negligible. Anything too high, and the search engine spiders may come to see it as keyword spamming. Just stick to 3%-6% and you’ll do fine.

SEO Ghostwriter Secret: Wrong Objectives, No Results

It really doesn’t matter whether you have written your own promotional articles or have used the services of an experienced SEO ghostwriter, but if you do not have a workable traffic generation strategy, you will end up disappointed. The trick is to constantly focus on the correct objectives.

Most webmasters and inexperienced ghostwriters hardly have a plan when dealing with SEO (search engine optimized) promotional articles and will concentrate all their efforts on finding the article directory with the highest traffic and then they proceed to post all their articles there. The results are inevitable failure and disappointment.

Whenever I launch an article promotion and marketing campaign the most important objective that I usually have in mind is to post the articles with the right keywords and anchor text to create links for SEO reasons. That means that the whole exercise starts out with me carefully selecting the most popular keywords that I feel I am able to compete for. That is why it is just plain dumb hiring a ghostwriter with limited knowledge about search engine optimization. Yet to be honest, most ghostwriters out there have very little SEO knowledge.

The other thing that I will make a big effort to do is to create a valuable article that my target market will find genuinely useful. This also needs to be communicated through a catchy headline that immediately attracts attention. Many so-called SEO ghostwriters don’t put too much effort into this, so is it any wonder that their articles do not get re-posted too much in other sites or linked to? This is vital so as to trigger off the viral growth of links that is critical for large volume traffic generation. (SEO ghostwriter article continued).

You will need to know the other really important seo ghostwriter article objective to make your promotional articles really effective. Or read these amazing ghostwriter secrets from an experienced online writer spilling his guts.

SEO Article – Secret To Finding That Keyword That Opens The Traffic Floodgates

There is no denying what a single SEO article is capable of doing for you and your site. After all there are single articles on the World Wide Web that have been known to attract millions of hits.

The only snag (or so you think) is that you require some affordable SEO expert to come along and write such an article for you. This is just NOT true. Anybody can write a pretty effective SEO article. And you don’t even necessarily need to be a useful writer. Remember that there is such a thing as a list article which anybody who can write a simple shopping list should be able to write.

The first thing that needs to be done if you intend to write that seo article is for you to research some keyword phrases. This is probably the trickiest part of the whole operation. It is tricky because while endeavoring to find popular keyword phrases, most people end up selecting keyword phrases that have such a high competition that they are completely useless to them.

For example why insist on using the word “article” which had over 52,000 hits last month but which is so competitive that much better known and older sites in the industry than you are not even in the top 100 in search engine results for the word? Why not try “free article” which had just slightly over 6,000 hits last month? Or even better the keyword phrase “article and interview” which had only 1696 hits during a recent month.

If you’re new to this game of SEO articles I recommend that you chose the keyword phrase right at the bottom and then work your way upwards as you learn. That is exactly what I did myself and I’ve been amazed at how rapidly I’ve been able to climb up most keyword lists and today some of my SEO articles attract tens of thousands of hits.

Search Engine Optimization Secrets – 5 Easy Ways To Create ‘SEO Juice’

One of the worst kept search engine optimization secrets is that building backlinks is the key to SEO success. Yet, many marketers still struggle to create enough ‘SEO juice’ (backlinks) they need to get higher rankings on the likes of Google.

Here are 5 easy ways to create backlinks to your website and skyrocket your rankings:

1. Article Submissions

Article submissions remains a proven way to generate a flood of authority site backlinks in a matter of just days. What you want to do is to use an article submitter like Submit Your Article or Article Post Robot to submit your article to hundreds of article directories.

2. Blog Comments

Find blogs in your market and post comments on them to generate a flood of one-way backlinks. Do be careful not to spam blogs though. Most blogs these days have set their comments to be moderated first by the owner before they are accepted, so you’d want to provide useful comments to get more backlinks out there.

3. Forum Posting

Posting in forums is a free and fast way to get backlinks. Just look out for ‘no-follow’ in the Page Source of the forums to ensure they are not intentionally blocking out search engine spiders.

4. Link Exchanges

Look to exchange links with other website owners in your market. Approach them by finding their contact details on their website. It’s a mutually beneficial win-win situation to exchange links.

5. Buying Links

On the other hand, you can also buy one-way links from webmasters that sell them. You can head over to the Digital Point forums to find such deals.

SEO Secrets – Top SEO Strategies to Implement

Layout: Develop the site in DIV tags instead of tables. Don’t use Tables for layout development. Tableless is more search engine and user friendly. It loads faster than table based.
Content: Write more content for the home page describing your services or products. Don’t copy content from anywhere else. Today’s search engines are intelligent enough to find duplicate content or copied content. Be wise to write your home page content. Try to cover all your targeted keywords on the home page content and sprinkle them.
Use the title attribute for all link tags and keep a meaningful title. They are good for not only for search engines but also your visitors who are blind.
Never repeat the page titles within your site. Keep the page title as short as possible and make it match to the content heading like this page did.
Use proper header tags for presenting your titles and sub titles. Use H1 tag to present the main header of the page. It is good practice if you match the < title > tag content with < h1 > tag content.
Keyword Prominence: Try to start your content very close to the < body > tag. These pages/sites will have high importance in the search engine result pages. Don’t believe it? Google out for “Keyword Prominence” and observe the first two or three sites HTML codes.
Do not use text on images for links. Use text links. Don’t use JavaScript for menu. Build search engine friendly menu with UL and LI.
Keep the page weight as much less as possible. The less weight means loads faster and the more content means more informative. Table based design will weight more than a div based design. Build your site using < DIV > tags. Try to keep the page size less than 40K.
Flash: Use less flash. If it is compulsory to use flash.. call it using id from JavaScript with ID reference (like < div id=”flash” >< / div >). In this way we don’t need to write many lines of code.
Use hyphens instead of underscores as separators in URL.
For example: yoursite.com/this_is_not_effective.html (This is not good but not bad)
yoursite.com/this-is-right.html (This is good)
When Everything is ready…Start link exchanging with relevant websites.
Don’t use inline/inner JavaScript and CSS. Use external CSS and JavaScript. So the page weight will be less and loads faster. Obviously search engines start loving your site.
Use bold (< b >) tags instead of strong (< strong >) tags. It is no difference in the browser. But when i see the cached text version of the page on Google…< strong > seems to be not working. Observe it on any cached page of any site from Google.
Use repetitive images as background images except the main logo of the site and call them using CSS. It means.. there will be few images repetitive through out the website. So keep them as background images in your style sheet. For example observe http://www.comogroupap.com.au site If you don’t want the logo as printable then you can keep it also as background image
Write a meaningful meta description instead of just stuffing it with keywords. A meaningful meta description also plays good role in ranking a page.
Few of the meta keywords can be repetitive. But Title and meta descriptions should be Unique.
Check for broken links throughout the site. Keep your site free from broken links
Prepare a good sitemap and link it from home page. If your site has more than 100 links keep them in second page. A good sitemap is useful for your visitors as well as search engines. Make xml sitemap and submit to Google through webmaster console.
If you are using redirections, use 301 redirections. Be careful at redirections.
Be careful on choosing the host also. Try to be on your individual IP. Do not share your host IP. Because if some others on your shared server using Black Hat techniques for SEO will affect your site rankings if you share single IP.

Search Engine Optimization Secrets – Making the Most of Keywords

A lot of people will tell you that content is king, and that you need to have keyword optimized, relevant content on your site for good search engine optimization. However, this is just one part of how you can use keywords for SEO. One of the best kept search engine optimization secrets is that keywords and phrases belong everywhere on your site.

Your keyword optimization should begin before you ever publish your website to the internet. Your domain name or URL should have your primary keyword or phrase within it. If you operate only in one location, it can be very helpful to treat that location as another primary keyword and include it in your domain name as well. For example, a divorce attorney in Kansas City might have the domain name of divorce-now-kc.net, or something similar.

The next place to use your keywords is in your file names, including your pictures and scripts. You should also use your keywords in your metatags, although this is another current misconception among new marketers. The keywords metatag used to be given high priority in seo, and there are still many sites on the web that lead you to this belief.

This is another of the biggest kept search engine optimization secrets-keyword metatags do you more harm than good. The search engines ignore them for the most part, and your competitors can view the html source of your website and see what keywords you are targeting. Once you have completed your initial search engine optimization, you can use keywords throughout your content and marketing for optimal results.

SEO’s Dirty Little Secret – How to Score Top Rankings and Lose Sales

A cautionary tale of winning top search engine rankings and losing sales

Jupiter Research predicts online ad spending will reach and exceed 18 billion dollars by 2010. But how much of that traffic actually converts to sales? First page Google ranking is the ultimate quest of Internet marketing, but converting visitors into buyers is the Holy Grail.

Heavy site traffic and top search engine rankings don’t guarantee equally impressive sales. Too often, SEO firms suck businesses into the mindless pursuit of being number one on Google. Claiming bragging rights to those coveted spots are seductive, but being at the top doesn’t pay the bills.

There’s a dirty little secret in the SEO industry right now and knowing what it is and how to avoid it means the difference between having customers who look and ones who buy.

Before you hire an SEO firm or perform any optimization yourself, discover SEO’s dirty little secret first.

A case study on the damage SEO can do to your sales

An attorney hires an SEO firm to generate leads from his web site. The contract term is for 3 months at $1400 per month. Services include pay-per-click ads and Google AdWords. First page search engine results are guaranteed. The attorney expects leads to come pouring in within the first 3 days. No SEO site work or copywriting is performed or even suggested.

The first month netted ONE client out of 2,356 hits. Billing 5 hours at $200/hour resulted in a loss of $400 to get that one client. Click-through rates from the ads were respectable, but bounce rates were too. Statistics showed visitors spent less than 2 seconds on the landing page and rarely clicked further into the site. This trend continued throughout the 3 months.

$4200 goes down the drain. This case study is not unique in any way. There is no shortage of businesses spending thousands or tens of thousands of dollars on SEO firms and either don’t measure the ROI or are grossly disappointed in the results.

If a firm doesn’t divulge SEO’s dirty little secret, run- don’t walk, the other way

The SEO firm should have reviewed the web site copywriting and design before creating an SEO strategy, much less going full throttle with the campaign. Sure, the firm delivered in traffic, but failed miserably in the sales department. Sales are the bottom line for any business, not traffic. And here in lies the dirty little secret: SEO results only in traffic. But conversion optimization results in sales.

Business cannot live on traffic alone

Conversion optimization (CO) is the process by which your web site copy and site functionality removes barriers restricting visitors from completing your site’s goal- whether it’s purchasing, subscribing, filling out a contact form or downloading material. SEO brings visitors to your site, but CO compels them to act.

The attorney’s web site content was weak and bleak- a mere bullet point list of services. All that traffic hit the Internet highway in search of another attorney who proved he cared about their case, had the skills to win it and the experience to do so. This attorney quite possibly has these qualities and more, but visitors never gave him a chance.

Investing in a conversion optimization strategy first would have changed this case study drastically. After signing a $4200 SEO contract, the attorney opted to forego the extra expense. But in the end, a CO investment would have saved him thousands of dollars and who knows how many clients.

A bonus: conversion optimized web site copy would have improved his organic search results long after the PPC and AdWords campaigns ended.

4 steps to avoid the attorney’s fate

Step 1: Evaluate your web site’s analytics and statistics

Through your site host or a program like Google Analytics, you have access to everything visitor behavior-related. What page they land on, what page they leave from and how long they stay. This information tells exactly where to begin your conversion optimization strategy.

For example, a PPC ad delivers visitors to a landing page for a newsletter subscription. If the ad brings 100 visitors, 5 sign up and 95 click off in less than 2 seconds, you know exactly where to start- beef up the copywriting on the landing page. Bailing on the order form? Functionality is the issue.

Step 2: Think like a visitor, be the visitor

To optimize your site for conversions, you must see its usability from a visitor’s perspective and improve the functionality while streamlining the action process.

• Improve the navigation. The fewer clicks to get to the desired action, the better.

• Streamline the action process. Navigate the process regularly to check for error messages or snags.

• Test and double test the e-commerce system. Use a system that doesn’t bog down or scare away the buyer. Again, the fewer steps the better. And offer help along the way.

Step 3: Earn trust to earn business

Along with web site copy that doesn’t read like infomercial regurgitation, add other elements that promote and build trust.

• Use the latest secure encryption system and make certain your customers know you use it. Ordering pages must have https, not http. Simple icons and verbiage go a long way.

• Keep security certificates current. Many browsers display invalid/expired certificate warnings.

• Emphasize service guarantees and product warranties. Consider offering an extra protection layer that competitors don’t. Advertise this in PPC ads too.

• Review your content. Answer questions on-site that your CSRs typically field. FAQs work well for services. Offer spec sheets for products.

Step 4: Don’t ignore human nature

Impulse buys occur online just as they do in physical stores. Make it easy for customers to add on to a purchase. Amazon offers free shipping on orders over $25.00. Do people add an item to a $19.99 purchase to receive free shipping? You bet they do.

• Highlight other popular products, best sellers or “others who bought this product also purchased…”

• Introduce new products/services alongside established ones. “If you like this, you’ll love this.”

• Enhancements and other complementary products/services like batteries, cables, etc.

Conversion optimization is a journey, not a destination

Your site is consistently ranking in the top 10, sales are up 34% and your site is converting 4 out of every ten visitors into customers. Now that’s something to brag about.

Invest in a conversion optimization plan BEFORE an SEO strategy so that ranking at the top actually means something quantifiable to your business. Like SEO, conversion optimization is a continual process. Buyer behavior changes and web functionality evolves. All significantly impact your bottom line.

Keyword Research – SEO Tips What You Need to Know
Posted in Uncategorized on December 12, 2009 by jimjimith
Keyword research is a vital step in any SEO campaign, yes its tedious work but very necessary and it will definitely help you achieve higher rankings in the search engines. If I could give you the top 3 SEO Tips in my bag of tricks, I would have to say #1 is Keyword Research.

Now everyone has there own formula’s and tricks for finding a niche keyword or phrase, and I have bought some tools out there myself, but it seems I always fall back to Google’s free Keyword tool, they have added some features that really make this tool easy to use and extremely helpful.

SEO Tips -

Finding a niche keyword or phrase starts with your interest. Make a list of your favorite products and services, if you are going to start promoting your website, its much easier to write articles and come up with content if you are interested in the product or service. A keyword tool provides you with the keywords or phrases that people are typing into the search engines. So for example in our tool we searched for “skateboards”, the tool would give us some data back on how many times that keyword or phrase was searched in one month.

Now you may notice the search on your keyword has resulted in millions of monthly searches, well that is where the niche part comes in, take that keyword “skateboards” and turn it into a phrase like “skateboard trucks” or “top skateboard decks” and you will notice the competition and monthly searches will drop drastically, but you want to still want to find words that generate traffic. I tend to leave alone any keywords with less than 500 monthly searches and up to 100, 000 searches, just depends on the competition.

Although instinct would tell you to go after the most popular keyword, but that is not always the best approach, it’s always easier to reach number one on the search engines if a keyword has less competition than to compete against millions of web pages.

Even though we did not go into great detail on this whole process, I hope it has enlightened you on the fact that this step can either make it or break it for you. Don’t spend months trying to get to number one only to find out that your keyword does not generate any traffic at all or you are up against the biggest competition.
